Music There are two main aims for the term and most our work will focus on these 1. Prepare for the Trinity Guildhall First Recital (Recorders) Examination. This requires pieces to be learnt and performed to concert standard, including the preparation of programme notes. This is excellent preparation for ensemble work in groups and bands at secondary level. We shall continue to study theory in conjunction with the above work. 2. Perform a Summer Show with songs, spoken word, acting and dancing for parents and others. ( The choir will also be preparing songs for performance later in the term.)
Art Preliminary research about an artist of choice begun in the holidays will be extended and developed individually. The rest of the Summer Term is largely devoted to designing and making scenery and props for the summer production. This project features a wide variety of media, methods and skills with time for experimentation and adaption of ideas. Design problems are an integral part of the process. Most of the work involves small groups working together.
